Goodbye Bell Street - boutique closing in July 2018
After five years and thousands of bridal appointments it is with regret that I have to announce The Secret Dress House will be closing when we reach the end of our tenancy at 12 Bell Street in July. After July I won’t be taking new orders but I’ll be continuing to sell my samples and seeing current orders through my studio space at home until the last wedding on our books in 2019.
While we’re here though we’re business as usual. Yes, it does mean that all of my stock must go so we’ve got some amazing offers on here in the boutique. All of my dresses can be sold as samples and they’re reduced by at least 50% of the RRP - with our beautiful designers on our books then it’s a brilliant chance to grab a bargain. If you’d still like a new dress from us then we can offer 10% off the RRP too.
In terms of existing brides, everyone is aware of the situation and all orders will of course be fulfilled.
About Me & Why I’m Closing down
I adore the business, it is my first baby and it’s going to be devastating not to continue helping my lovely brides find their dress, but my situation changed when I became a mummy to my little boy Alfie.
Ever since then I have found it increasingly challenging to juggle. I have hundreds of weddings in the calendar every year, brides that I pride myself on giving the perfect service to. This takes so many hours in the day to manage it’s been a huge roller-coaster of emotions and effort to keep up.
As we neared to end of our tenancy I faced the daunting challenge of relocating the business. I thought long and hard about it and came close to taking on a new premises but something wasn’t right, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Something needed to give so sadly it’s The Secret Dress House that will eventually go to give me more time with Alfie. This summer for the first time for many years I plan to have a lot of fun with my family before he heads off to pre-school in September.
It’s been such a pleasure to be part of the bridal journey for so many of you and I’m so sad I will miss the excitement and buzz that comes with every bridal appointment. Over the years my staff have thrown themselves into the appointments and it is the personal service and attention to detail that has seen us grow from the new kids on the block to Surrey’s best reviewed bridal store. I am so grateful to everyone who has worked with us over the years and pulled out all the stops to make our customers feel so welcomed.
If you bought your dress from us or plan to visit us before we close I hope you have an amazing time, we have certainly loved having you and would love you to be part of our history.
